1 Achyuta= Infallible
Lord Vishnu, who is in all beings and is the essence
of all beings, never falls to respond to prayers.
2 Ateendriya= Beyond The Approach Of The
Senses
Lord Vishnu, with infinite self-knowledge, is supremely
wise and powerful. He is the Controller of the senses
and is Omniscient.
3. Anadinidhana= The Eternal Wealth
The Gracious Lord bestows wealth on us. He symbolizes
Eternal Wealth, the Highest Wealth and is generous.
His wealth is limitless and eternal.
4 Aniruddha= The Indomitable
Lord of the past and the future, Lord Vishnu is
both Victory and the Victor. He vanquishes His foes,
for he is indomitable, and eternal.
5 Amruta= The Immortal
Lord Vishnu resides in each of us. This self in
us is immortal. The relationship between the self
in one and the same self in others is spiritual.
Understanding this relationship is like entering
the world of immortality and becoming aware of the
Lord.
6 Aravinda= The Lotus-Eyed
Lord Vishnu once look the incarnation of Krishna.
Lord Krishna’s beautiful eyes are compared
to the delicate, graceful petals of lotus, signifying
tenderness and love.
7 Ashwattha= The Form Of Peepul Tree
Lord Vishnu, the Sustainer of life, is the Tredd
of life under whom we seek shelter. He provides
us with the vital life-force and gives each of us
a place to dwell withing him.
8 Aditya= Himself The Sun
Vishnu is Himself the Sun, the Giver of light, the
Beacon that guides one on the path of Dharma.
9 Adideva= The Primordial Being
Lord Vishnu is present in every creature. One has
to recognize him and be aware of his presence in
order to unite with him.
10 Ananda= The Bestower Of Joy
Vishnu, the embodiment of love and happiness, is
the manifestation of bliss. He dwells in each of
us and brings joy to is. To be award of him is to
dwell in happiness and bliss.
11 Ishwara= The Lord Of All
Lord Vishnu is Existence, it’s cause and it’s
support. He is in all and is all-powerful and all-knowing.
He is the one from which all creation flows. He
is the Creator. He supports the breath of life and
is the life-giving force.
12 Upendra= The Younger Brother Of Indra
Lord Vishnu, in the incarnation of Krishna, lifted
the Govardhan hill on his little finger to curb
Indra’s jealous feeling, thus providing shelter
to the multitudes from the torrential rain showered
by Indra. The Celestial being craved pardon and
made him his younger brother.
13 Ekasmi= The Ultimate
Lord Vishnu, who is in all, who is all and the Essence
of all beings, who is without competitions, is the
Supreme Lord. He is the Radiant one, the Unborn,
the Deathless, the Unvanquieshed, the Eternal.
14 Ojasterjodhyutidhara= One Who Has Vitality
And Radiance
Lord Vishnu, the Shining Spirit, radiates light
and shines in splendor. He is full of divine grace
and vitality, being Eternal and Indomitable.
15 Kumuda= Lotus-Like
Lord Vishnu, with eyes like the nascent leaves of
the lotus, and whose lotus-like hands hold the discus
that is like a radiant sun, who stands with his
lotus-like feet upon the back of the king is birds,
whose lotus-like face bloom in beauty, is the Supreme
Lord.
16 Krutagnna= The Grateful
Lord Vishnu, with a gentle face that is ever smiling,
is full of generosity and kindness, forgiving those
who humbly seek his pardon. He is generous and merciful
and he greatly rewards for every sincere effort,
however minor it may be.
17 Krishna= In The Form Of Krishna
Lord Vishnu, in one of his incarnations as Krishna,
is full of tenderness and love, with a dash of mischief
in him which makes him almost human.
18 Keshava= With Beautiful Hair
The whole creation emanates from the Lord, just
as hair grows from our body. With his beautiful
hair, he symbolizes the Trinity, with Brahma representing
“Ka”, “Vishnu “a”
and Shiva “ish”.
19 Kshetragna= He Who knows All About The
Body’s Nature
Lord Vishnu, the Ominiscient one, is award of all
the fields of knowledge. He dwells in each of us,
knows about the body, it’s nature, it’s
characteristics, and his is immutable.
20 Gadadhara = The Wielder Of The Mace
Lord Vishnu, the all Pervasive, is the Law. He rules
us from within. He wields a heavy mace which is
ever ready to end the pains caused by physical,
celestial and mental afflictions of all his devotees.
21 Garudadhwaja= He Who Has The Garuda Symbol
On His Flag
Lord Vishnu’s vehicle has a flag with the
symbol of garuda on it. Sitting on his vehicle with
this flag, he redeemed and elephant mired in great
distress.
22 Gopati = The Lord And Protector Of Cows
Lord Vishnu, in his incarnation as Krisha, is known
as the Protector of cows. He is also the Protector
of Dharma, and hence incarnates each times, in one
form or another, to help preserve it on earth.
23 Govinda = Comprehensible Through The
Vedas Only
As the Ultimate Meaning of the Vedas and Scriptures,
Lord Vishnu can be comprehended only through the
Vedas and meditation. He is unrealizable through
senses and mere knowledge.
24 Govindampati= The Master Of All Who
Know The Vedas
Vishnu is the syllable “Om” in the Vedas.
As such, he is responsible for the Vedanta, and
Master of all those who know the four Vedas.
25 Chaturbhuja= The Four-Armed
Four are Lord Vishnu’s forms, four his arms,
four his manifestations, and four his paths, four
are his selves, four his states of consciousness.
He know the four Vedas and sums them up in One Word.
26 Chaturvyuha = The Four Arrays Of Life
The Four arrays of life- Creation, sustenance, destruction
and survival- are the embodiment of Vishnu. He is
Immortal, and is Omniscient.
27 Janardana =The Destroyer Of People’s
Distress
Lord Vishnu, the Pure and the Supreme, is the Ocean
of solace in whom we unburden our sorrows. By forgetting
our personal sorrows and living for others, our
personal sorrows will be destroyed once and for
all.
28 Jyeshttha= The Eldest
The Almighty, Lord Vishnu, whose forms are many,
who is everywhere, who is the Progenitor of all
beings, is the eldest and the best, second to none.
He is the Supreme God, who is Omnipresent, and the
Ruler of all.
29 Jyotiraditya =The Brilliant Sun
Lord Vishnu, resplendent in all his glory, is the
Brilliant Sun, whose myriad rays envelope the cosmos
in entirety.
30 Jyotishi = Immensely Radiant
Lord Vishnu is the Brightness of the Sun. He is
the Radiant One. He is the Sun’s Rays, Emanating
light, he shines forth brilliantly.
31 Dhara = Steady As The Earth
Rock-like steady in his bearing, Lord Vishnu is
the Pillar of Strength and Power from whom one draws
succour.
32 Damana = The Queller Of Delinquence
Vishnu is radiant like the sun, and with the Sudarshana
Chakra (discus) in his hand, He is capable of quelling
delinquency and evil in every mind.
33 Damodara= The Self-Restrained
Vishnu, in his incarnation as Krishna, tied to a
mortar with a rope for upsetting Yashoda, is self-restrained
and patient.
34.Deeptamurti=The Radiant Image
Lord Vishnu is the Light in the Sun. His fame shines
brightly as he sheds his benevolent light on all.
He glows with great brilliance and is worshipped
by all.
35 Duhswapnanashana = The Destroyer Of
Nightmares
The Lord creates and destroys all that evil, sinful,
dark and everything negative, uplifting his devotees
from sorrows and sufferings.
36 Devakinandana = The Son Of Devaki
Lord Krishna, one of Lord Vishnu’s many incarnations,
was the beloved son of Devaki. As the divine child,
with his unbounded love and devotion for Devaki,
he endears himself to her.
37 Dhananjaya = The Winner Of Wealth
Lord Vishnu is the Respository of the world’s
wealth of life. He is the one who wins all kinds
of wealth, including absolute devotion and love
from his devotees.
38 Nandi = The Image Of Supreme Bliss
Lord Vishnu, transcending the range of the senses,
is the image of supreme bliss that is endless. Devotees
seek a place in this Ocean of Bliss.
39 Narayana = One Whose Abode Is Water
Lord Vishnu lies supine on Sheshnag, the serpent
which bears him on it’s coils on the crests
of the sea.
40 Narasimhavapushi = The Man-Lion Bodied
Hiranyakashyapu, the dreaded demon, was granted
a boon by Bhahma that no god or demon or animal
could ever kill him. So, Lord Vishnu look the form
of half-lion Vishnu look the form of half-lion half-man
to slay Hiranyakashyapu and bring relief to all
mankind.
41 Padmanabha = Having Lotus In The Navel
Padma is lotus and Nabha means navel. Lord Vishnu,
the symbol of beauty and fertility, is attributed
with a navel from whence sprang a delicately beautiful
lotus bearing Brahama, the personification of the
creative power of the Lord.
42 Padmi = The Lotus
Vishnu holds a lotus in one of His four hands, which
is capable of granting all rewards or material riches.
The Lord is the Bearer of the lotus which is symbolic
of all wealth.
43 Parameshwara = The Supreme Lord
Lord Vishnu is the Lord of the lords, the Supreme
Lord. He is at the core of creation, the Lord Almighty
who reigns supreme.
44 Pavitra = The Pure
Lord Vishnu is Pure and is also the Purifier. He
is perfect and purifies one and all, being the Essence
of Purity. He is also symbolic of strength, majesty
and glory.
45 Pradhyumna = The Indomitable
The invincible Lord Vishnu is the Origin of all.
He is Supreme and Indomitable, and cannot be conquered.
Without beginning or end, He is Eternal.
46 Pranava = The Special Form Of “OM”
Lord Vishnu, by whose spirit one’s lifeless
body and mind get energized with consciousness,
is represented by the special form of “OM”
that permeates all nature and being.
47 Purandara = The Destroyer Of The Cities
Of Demons
The Omniscient and Omnipotent Lord Vishnu is the
Destroyer of all the cities where dwell the demons
who represent evil, thus removing everything that
is negative and evil.
48 Purusha = The Dweller In The Body
The Lord of the universe dwells as the Divine Spark
in each one of us. This self, the Pure Spirit, is
the same in every creature that has life, and it
can never die.
49 Pundareekaksha = The Lotus-Eyed
Having eyes like the petals of the lotus, Lord Vishnu
is extremely handsome. His all-seeing eyes reflect
the brilliance of a thousand suns. His big and beautiful
eyes absorb everything.
50 Bruhatrupa = The Giant-Sized
The broad-chested, magnificent, giant-sized Lord
Vishnu is stately and handsome, with an exquisitely
beautiful form.
51 Bhaktavatsala = Fond Of His Devotees
The Lord, the Creator, gave life to us. He is the
Guru and the Best spiritual teacher. He is the embodiment
of Truth and his devotees adore him.
52 Bhagavati = The Lord
Lord of the past, present and future, Lord Vishnu
is the Lord of all the three worlds. He is the Earth,
Sky and Heaven. In all three worlds, He is the Supreme
Lord.]
53 Madusoodhana = The Slayer Of Madu
The establish Dharma on Earth, Lord Vishnu destroyed
the terrible demon Madu. He the Supreme One destroys
the wicked and admonishes all that is wrong. He
shows the path to righteousness.
